Do I need the box to return a TV to Costco?
I just bought a tv for my condo from Costco and I'm wondering if I should save the box in case I need to return it in the 90 day return period? I live in a condo and space is tight so I'd like to throw it out...
Thanks

on the otherhand, it's a heckuva lot easier to bring back to costco on practical basis if you have the box.

I keep all big boxes for a couple weeks and then I toss them if there's no space.

Just fold the box up and stick it somewhere, behind the couch or something?
Part of me also feels like even if you don't have to have the box, you should try to have it if at all possible... I don't know what Costco's procedures are but I'm sure it's a heck of a lot easier to deal with a returned item in saleable condition with all the packaging etc. like new, than the same item just by itself. If it's just a minor inconvenience to keep the box, I'd rather do that than look like a jerk.

If there's a chance you are going to return it, then you should keep the box. Flatten the box and hide it behind the couch or something until you know you're not going to need it.

Depending on TV... some of the boxes can't simply be flattened. The construction is a little more complicated. You could technically flatten, but you probably will never get it back into the original shape. I kept mine so if/when I move I can transport the TV easier, but I also have a locker.

Bought one last night.. The employee on the floor told me "if you don't like it.. Bring it back! You don't even need the box"

You don't need the box, but you do need everything that came inside. If there's a section that lists the contents just cut it off and throw the rest away.

Costco's return policy is so good, you don't even need the TV!

YES YOU DO!
I returned a plasma and they checked it very much so yes you will need the original packaging
Costco has one of the best return policies but for TV'S they are picky! at least in my area! so be prepared maybe to be told ''no'' but i doubt it if you already made the trip there i dunno ...

I have seen TV returns without boxes, but I think it's just a good idea to have it around, though I understand that some boxes are crush-proof which means it's basically impossible to fold flat.

Anyone have experience with this? My 65" vizio arrived freight and was DOA so they're doing a swap. The amount of packaging is ubsurd and I'd really like to toss it and not hold on to it for 2 weeks.
